Dating back to 1631 and sitting within delightful grounds, Highgate House is a prominent Grade II listed house of immense character. Situated just one mile from the village of Bettws Cedewain, Highgate offers stunning views over the Highgate Valley. Within the village the local pub offers hot meals and the historic market town of Newtown is just 3 miles away.

Overall absolutely loved the stay. Cottage was better than described or the photos. The adults loved the peace and quite, the views and the high standard of the cottage. The kids loved the Alpacas Minimus and Robby, the Shetland Ponys and Bessie the dog! Thank you for the great welcome, taking the time to introduce the kids to the animals, had a really great stay and see you soon!

10 of us stayed at Quarry & Orchard cottage.. 2 families of four and 1 two. Rooms were laid out to our specifications with comfortable clean beds. Each room had a very generous clean bathroom and plenty of cupboard space. Lovely veranda overlooking a large pond and greenery. Plenty of space for 10 of us not to get under each others feet. We all agreed we would visit again.

Spacious, clean, newly renovated barn with breath taking view in' the middle of nowhere' -positive point. Shops and pub 5-10 min. drive. Ideal for people with busy life styles; to take a brake, but still to stay in touch with 'reality' -very good WIFI connection. Would recommend to families with children of all age. At the end, I would like to add that we were concerned about owner living to close to the property but we only saw them twice, upon arrival to get the keys and at the end of our break, when we had to return the keys.

Excellent location for a group of 12 mature motorcyclists. We all ride the same model of bike, and come from all over the UK, from Manchester, Leeds, Peterborough, Kent and Cornwall. We wanted a central location to explore the great riding roads of Wales. The rooms suited us as we had 2 couples, and the rest of us didn't mind sharing a room. There was plenty of space to store 10 bikes, the facilities were great, There were plenty of channels on the FreeSat TV, the WiFi worked perfectly ( I only book places with WiFi ) The rooms were very clean and well equipped.

Orchard Cottage and Quarry Cottage

Highgate Holiday Cottages are converted from a 19th century mill barn and stand within the grounds of Highgate House.

The gardens surrounding the cottages are beautifully maintained, with lawned areas, mature trees and well stocked flower borders. A stroll around the grounds reveal the stunning views over the adjoining rolling countryside and the Highgate Valley.

To the rear of the cottages is the delightful mill pond, which provides a wonderful vista from the private balcony terraces of the barns. The pond is stocked with trout and attracts an abundance of wildlife, including otters, throughout the year, whilst red kites are often seen circling overhead. Visitors are free to try their hand at fishing! 

A graveled parking area provides ample parking for these properties.
